Mrs Gwendoline Poodle is the home economics teacher at Assisi High School, an Australian Suburban Catholic High School. Mrs Poodle has been teaching home economics since she can remember and nearly 50 years of dealing with year 7s have left her nerves rattled, her mental state bitter and her temper short.

She comes from the old school of teaching and was very sad to see the cane banned from the classroom. She believes that children should be seen and not heard, which is why when Tegan wants special consideration, Mrs Poodle refuses. Mrs Poodle is a strong believer in the tried and true meals of meat and three veg. Vegetarians and Vegans are liberal, hippie weirdos with no place in her classroom or in nutritional decisions for children!
