Mrs Poodle
Step-by-step how Mrs Poodle was made
Assisi High is Tegan's school, where she attends classes with her fellow classmates and learns all about cooking meat from Mrs Poodle. There were three parts to the Assisi High set - the exterior miniature for the establishing shot, the playground where the kids have their lunch and of course the Home Economics classroom where most of the film's action takes place.
Above is how the miniature set looks in the film. It was built at 1:25 scale and used boxes, cardboard, balsa wood, fake grass and aquarium trees and plants. The base of the buildings were built from cardboard boxes covered with tiny balsa-wood 'bricks' which were then painted with textured paint to look like actual bricks.
This is the playground set with Tegan in it.
It's the same space as the miniature set, but
this one was built bigger (1:5 scale) to allow
for the puppets to interact with the space and
move around it. The tree is paper mache on a
chicken wire frame covered with real bark, the
walls are MDF decorated with balsa wood
'bricks'. The ground is textured paint with sand
in it. Small plants are aquarium plants and
model train plants.
